Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Nursery Assistant to join the team in Becontree, RM8. The role is mornings only, start as soon as possible, with a contract ending July 2027 and potential extension or permanent placement based on performance.

The post is a full-time temporary contract with hours 8:00am–13:00pm, term-time only, supporting within the Nursery and ensuring safeguarding guidelines are followed. Training and ongoing development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year Key Stage 1 or 2 experience in the UK
• SEN experience working with children
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year

Responsibilities

• Support nursery activities and supervise children in morning sessions.
• Maintain safeguarding and welfare of children.

Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year Key Stage 1 OR 2 experience in the UK
• SEN experience working with children
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
