Job summary

GI Group Main Account is seeking an experienced transport administrator for morning shifts in Daventry on a temp-to-perm basis. The role focuses on overseeing daily transport operations, driver dispatch, paperwork, and fleet compliance to ensure efficient customer service and strict safety adherence.

The candidate will manage Tacho processes, mileage investigations, maintenance planning, and warehouse housekeeping while supporting other transport tasks as required.

Qualifications

• High performer who regularly achieves KPI targets.
• Good working knowledge of transport and logistics.
• Reliable with high attendance and punctuality.
• Assist with general duties within the transport function.
• Able to embrace change in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer literate with experience of WMS systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee afternoon transport planning and driver dispatch.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed and filed.
• Maintain Tacho management records and sign infringements.
• Investigate and rectify missing mileage.
• Manage breakdowns and repairs promptly.
• Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle walkarounds.
• Keep fleet compliance up to date; book servicing and MOTs.
• Allocate inbound/outbound freight and handle holds.
• Monitor staff timekeeping, appearance, and PPE use.
• Ensure MHE is functional and arrange repairs as needed.
• Keep warehouse area clean and safe.
• Handle any reasonable transport/warehouse tasks as requested.
