Job summary

St Thomas Church of England Primary School is seeking a hands-on Site Supervisor to ensure the site runs smoothly and safely. You will start at 6:00am and work until 2:00pm, overseeing planned maintenance, security checks and the operation of building management systems to support the daily use by around 300 children and staff.

You will coordinate contractors, assist with room setups and furniture moves, and uphold health and safety standards across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance or site operations.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and services.
• Comfortable with early starts and hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds to a high standard, including repairs and upkeep.
• Open the site in the morning and manage alarms; keep premises secure.
• Operate heating systems and building management systems.
• Coordinate external contractors (catering, cleaning, grounds) to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Support room setups, furniture and equipment moves as needed.
• Manage waste and keep site clean and presentable.
• Support out-of-hours use of the premises.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and best practice.
