Job summary

Kier Group's Oldham Library & Lifelong Learning Centre in Oldham is seeking a Cleaner to join the team. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for visitors and staff, supporting the library's services and community programmes.

We value reliability, a commitment to health and safety, and a collaborative approach. The role involves early shifts from 06:30 to 08:30, with opportunities to train in cleaning methods and contribute to a high standard of public cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or willingness to be trained in cleaning methods.
• Ability to work to a schedule and maintain high standards.
• Understanding of health and safety guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all floor surfaces, including vacuuming carpeted areas and wet mopping hard floors.
• Keep washroom facilities clean and stocked with consumables such as soap, toilet rolls and towels.
• Dust and wipe furniture, surfaces, doors, mirrors and electrical items.
• Empty waste and dispose of it according to guidelines.
• Follow COSHH guidelines, use colour-coded equipment and wear appropriate PPE.
