Job summary

Thomas is a PE-backed SaaS business transforming into a people science platform. We seek an Accountant to own month-end close, AP, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will work with a cross-continental finance team across the UK and South Africa, driving efficiencies and automation.

You will report to the Finance Business Partner and play a pivotal role in accurate close, audits and statutory reporting while embracing AI-enabled processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified or close-to-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Solid experience of month-end, balance sheet reconciliations and accounts payable.
• Strong attention to detail and good Excel skills.
• Organised and proactive with ownership mindset.
• Confident using AI and new technology to improve quality and efficiency.
• Comfortable collaborating across time zones (UK & SA).

Responsibilities

• Delivering month-end close: journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Owning balance sheet reconciliations (bank, fixed assets, intercompany).
• Owning accounts payable and supplier payments.
• Supporting sales invoicing and payment recording.
• Supporting audit and statutory reporting processes.
• Finding efficiencies by simplifying and automating processes.
