As a MongoDB Database Administrator, you will work in project teams designing, building, and maintaining MongoDB databases and infrastructure to deliver strong business solutions. You will be involved from design and build to supporting both non-production and production environments. We foster a learning culture at NBS, encouraging ongoing development and skill enhancement in relevant technologies. You will also have opportunities to join our communities to share ideas and collaborate with other engineers.

If you are outside of Swindon and London, you will need to attend these offices once a month for workshops, collaboration, and meetings.

What you’ll be doing

You will collaborate within delivery teams to build optimal solutions using your technical leadership and SME knowledge, offering advice, building systems, and troubleshooting within the MongoDB space. You will guide less experienced engineers and contribute to designing fit-for-purpose solutions to meet team objectives.

You may be required to work on-call occasionally.

About you

You have a proven track record in delivering technical solutions involving MongoDB, with in-depth knowledge of:

• Linux operating system concepts
• Configuring and supporting MongoDB OpsManager for backups and deployments
• MongoDB architecture, replication, and sharding
• Managing JSON document data, exporting, and importing
• Troubleshooting and performance tuning within MongoDB
• Working across multiple projects and collaborating effectively
• Sharing expertise with emerging talent
• Building relationships with technical and business stakeholders
• Quickly learning new technologies

Additionally, experience in at least three of the following areas is preferred:

• Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible)
• LDAP integration
• Red Hat OpenShift
• Kafka
• Network and infrastructure security
• Agile methodologies and Scrum
• Regulatory environments such as PCI and GDPR
• Working with third parties/suppliers
