Job summary

KES Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide mechanical engineering expertise across modular plantroom and offsite manufacturing projects. You will contribute from design through to installation, collaborating with BIM, Design, Manufacturing and Project teams to ensure compliant, well-coordinated systems for offsite manufacture.

The role involves developing layouts, coordinating piping, supporting 3D models, and assisting with technical procurement and fabrication readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Chartered Engineer status or progression towards accreditation desirable.
• Experience with modular/offsite manufacturing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical designs for modular plantroom projects.
• Produce and review mechanical layouts, schematics, P&IDs and drawings.
• Coordinate chilled water and related systems across projects.
• Review equipment selections (pumps, heat exchangers, valves).
• Develop pipework layouts with proper routing and maintenance access.
• Support BIM coordinators for fully coordinated 3D models.
• Ensure designs consider fabrication, lifting, transport and installation requirements.
• Assist with technical procurement and project handover.
