Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is seeking a driven mechanical project engineer to deliver all mechanical requirements across our project portfolio, coordinating with designers and suppliers. The role focuses on offsite modularisation, with oversight of programme, cost, and quality, and involves factory inspections and audits to ensure top standards.

You will work with commercial teams to procure mechanical components, manage sub-contracts, and develop robust delivery plans, while ensuring safety and compliance

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical project engineering experience in manufacturing or construction.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with multi-tasking ability.
• Commercial awareness and ability to coordinate pre-production and production activities.
• Familiarity with MMC, Lean Construction, Agile Programme Management and related techniques.
• Capability to plan resources on and off site to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all mechanical requirements across the project portfolio and coordinate with designers and suppliers.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to procure offsite and onsite mechanical components.
• Monitor progress of mechanical works to align with programmes and budgets.
• Conduct factory inspections and quality audits to maintain high standards.
• Develop programmes for mechanical works and integrate with the overall plan.
• Oversee quality assurance and maintain thorough documentation.
