Job summary

MPI Limited in Devon is seeking a skilled MOD Vehicle Technician for a long-term contract in Chivenor. The role covers vehicle inspections, ADR inspections, and delivering inspection training to Equipment Support personnel.

You will maintain JAMES MIS and perform servicing and repairs on military vehicles and plant equipment in compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate holds a full UK driving licence, relevant DVSA/ADR experience, and NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Vehicle Mechanic in a workshop environment.
• DVSA Vehicle Inspector experience is preferred.
• ADR Inspector experience is required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds with HGV training.
• Cat C Driving Licence (HGV medical) – training provided.
• Experience with military vehicles or plant equipment.
• Proactive, safety-focused with ability to follow regulations.

Overview:

• Conduct mandated vehicle inspections.
• Conduct ADR inspections.
• Deliver vehicle inspection training to Equipment Support personnel.
• Maintain JAMES MIS (Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions Management Information Systems).
• Conduct servicing, maintenance, mechanical, structural and electrical repairs on equipment and vehicles in accordance with current regulations.
• To safeguard all tools issued including all Special Tools and Test equipment within the workshop and to operate machinery and power tools.
• Adhere to the Engineering Management System.

Responsibility:

• CLR vehicle and ADR Inspector
• LAD MEI , VM 1 mandatory MEI refresher training instructor
• Conduct role specific training as required
• Maintain inspection bay equipment to legal standards
• SME for CLR Inspection Standards and JAMES
• Good IT skills as will be required to use computer systems daily.
• Experience as a Vehicle Mechanic in a workshop environment
