Job summary

Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services) in the United Kingdom seeks a dynamic MOD General Practitioner to join the Weeton Medical Centre team. This part-time role covers general and occupational healthcare for military personnel within GMC standards and organisational goals.

We are looking for a dynamic, organised, and enthusiastic MOD General Practitioner to join our primary health care team at Weeton Medical Centre.
Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) provides a unique blend of traditional team based primary care and occupational health support to military personnel.
DPHC also has a strong emphasis on education with numerous opportunities to train military medics, nurses, and Doctors.
The position is part time and offers 22 hours a week.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will provide primary and occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards to ensure that the organisational and Principal/Senior Medical Officer's objectives are achieved to optimise patient care.

Job responsibilities

• Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
• Maximising the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Service are met.
• Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
• Appropriately supervising the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.
• Representing the Principal Medical Officer (PMO) on Medical Practice related issues where necessary, including participation in unit health committees where appropriate.

Cyber and Specialist Operations Command (CSOC) is going through a significant transformation programme which aims to design the way in which the new Military Command conducts its business and delivers for Defence and the nation. As a consequence of this, posts within CSOC are/or may become subject to review and potential changes as we continuously improve across the period of the transformation programme. These changes may be minor or could be more substantive and will generate new opportunities.
