Ministry of Defence (Defence Medical Services) seeks a part‑time General Practitioner to provide occupational healthcare to Reserve Forces and entitled personnel at Baden Powell House, Catterick Garrison. The role is 27 hours per week with flexible working requests reviewed annually and pro‑rata salary.

You will operate under DPHC policies, ensure GMC-compliant care, and advise the Chain of Command. Security checks and professional registrations are required.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide occupational healthcare to members of the Reserve Forces and other entitled personnel in accordance with DPHC policies, professional standards and statutory requirements including recruit, physical assessments and other examinations deemed appropriate to enable personnel to pursue their career. There may be additional medical requirements that arise from the specialist role of the Units and for which occupational and Health & Safety at Work Act legislation may apply.
Provide medical care that is compatible with GMC policy, including specifically Duties of a Doctor.
Ensure that all Medical Administrative Instructions, medical policy letters and other military instructions issued from time to time by the MOD and other higher military formations, and which relate to the care of patients, are complied with and maintained in the Medical Centre.
Provide military medical advice to the Chain of Command in a timely manner (after receiving appropriate training). The MOD GP is to have direct access to Commanding Officers on matters relating to personnel under their Command and is to have nominated officers to whom they may refer routine administrative and disciplinary matters relating to staff and patients.
May be required to provide safe and appropriate Primary, Preventative and Remedial Healthcare in addition to their primary role of providing Occupational Healthcare, in order to support operational requirements and maintain Defence Healthcare outputs.

Job responsibilities
