Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role. You’ll work from a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs for members’ vehicles.

This position offers a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30–17:00, and 1 in 4 Saturdays. No emergency callouts, a structured workload, and training to RAC standards.

Our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division is a newer, fast-growingpart of the RAC, built to deliver planned, structured repair and servicingdirectly to members - from their driveway to their workplace car park.
There are no emergency callouts, no unpredictable shift patterns and noroadside recoveries. Instead, you’ll work through a scheduled list ofjobs, with the time, tools and support you need to do quality work.

What to expect

Your day starts with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre‑booked, with the member expecting you. You’ll carry out:
