Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles at customers' homes or workplaces. The role forms part of a new specialist division for a leading UK breakdown company, with a focus on flexible, customer-centric service.

You will work a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with one Saturday per month and overtime at time and a half when required. A competitive package includes overtime bonuses and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, in workshop or mobile role.
• Must be able to work independently, make decisions on the go and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles (including EVs) at customer locations such as driveways or car parks.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions.
• Keep up to date with automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of work and parts used.

Mobile Vehicle Technician

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repairs via pre-booked appointments at customers' home addresses or places of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Location: Bridgwater

Pay / salary: £40,170 OTE: In Excess of £52,000

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician roleHome based, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm with 1 Saturday per month. When working the Saturday, you will receive a day off in that week. Any overtime past 5pm or an additional Saturday, is paid at time and a half (£30ph)

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

What you'll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician

• roleMust have a minimum Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair, or ideally a Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, either in a workshop or a mobile vehicle role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Must have a full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.
