Job summary

The AA is seeking a Mobile Mechanic in the UK to service customers at homes or workplaces. You will handle diagnostics, repairs, and inspections, balancing bookings and breakdowns with training and support provided for success in a varied, independent role.

You will attend booked appointments and breakdowns, with a focus on customer service, safety, and reliability. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work shifts are required, with earning potential tied to location allowances and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Proven workshop or mobile mechanic experience.
• Full UK driving licence (Category B) with minimal points.

Responsibilities

• Explain diagnostics and repairs clearly to customers.
• Work independently across multiple locations.
• Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues at appointments and roadside locations.
• Represent the AA as a trusted expert and reassuring presence for members.

This is the job

As a Mobile Mechanic, you'll be the friendly face delivering first-class service and repair work at our customers' homes or workplaces.

You’ll attend a mix of booked appointments and breakdowns, carrying out inspections, diagnostics, servicing, brake replacement and on-the-spot repairs, helping to keep our customers moving safely and confidently.

With full training and ongoing support, you'll have everything you need to succeed in a varied, independent and rewarding role.

What will I be doing?

Communicator: Clearly explain diagnostics and repairs so customers feel confident and informed

Self-starter: Work independently across multiple locations and environments

Problem solver: Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues at customer appointments and roadside locations

Customer champion: Represent the AA as a trusted expert and reassuring presence for our members

Business builder: Take ownership of your local area, building relationships and creating opportunities to grow demand

What do I need?

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience in a workshop or mobile mechanic environment
• Full UK Category B driving licence (maximum 6 points)
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
