Job summary

The AA is looking for a Mobile Mechanic to provide first-class service and repairs at customers’ homes or workplaces in Birmingham. This role requires a commitment to customer service, flexibility to work varied shifts, and a background in vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a workshop or mobile mechanic environment is required.
• Must hold a full UK Category B driving licence with a maximum of 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Clearly explain diagnostics and repairs to customers.
• Work independently in all weather conditions across various locations.
• Diagnose and fix a wide range of vehicle issues at appointments or roadside.

• OTE of £42,507 – £44,470 depending on experience, qualifications, and location, including overtime paid at time and a half

This is the job

As a Mobile Mechanic, you’ll be the friendly face delivering first-class service and repair work at our customers’ homes or workplaces.

You’ll attend a mix of booked appointments and breakdowns, carrying out inspections, diagnostics, basic and full servicing, brake replacement and on-the-spot repairs—keeping our customers moving safely and confidently.

With full training and ongoing support, you’ll have everything you need to succeed in a varied, independent, and rewarding role.

What will I be doing?

• Self-starter: Work independently across multiple locations in all weather conditions
• Problem solver: Diagnose and fix a wide range of vehicle issues, roadside or at appointments

What do I need?

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent experience)
