Job summary

Halfords is looking for a Mobile Tyre Technician to join our West Midlands team in Oldbury. You will travel to customers’ homes or workplaces to remove, repair and fit tyres and diagnose tyre faults.

This cover role involves holiday and sickness absence. You may need to use your own vehicle and stay away from home for up to four nights a week, depending on the area. A full UK driving licence and tyre experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience removing, repairing and fitting tyres with ability to diagnose tyre faults.
• Experience delivering great customer service and managing daily schedules.
• Full driving licence held for minimum 12 months and no more than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customers at their home or workplace to service tyres.
• Cover holiday and sickness as a mobile technician.
• May stay away from home up to 4 nights a week depending on location.

Our Mobile Tyre Technicians travel to our customers at their home and workplace. As a Cover Mobile Tyre Technician you'll provide holiday and sickness cover. You'll need to be prepared to use your own vehicle for travel to the base location of the Mobile van you are to cover and potentially stay away from home for up to 4 nights a week as the location you are covering may be a long commute from your home. You will not be expected to stay away every week, but extensive stays may be required.

The salary on offer: £30,000 per annum + Bonus

Who we're looking for:

• You're already experienced in removing, repairing and fitting tyres, with the ability to diagnose tyre faults and determine whether repair or replacement is the right solution for the customer.
• You'll also have some experience of delivering great customer service and excellent time management skills, as you'll be organising your work schedule each day.

What you'll need:

• A full driving licence held for minimum of 12 months and no more than 6 points
• Experience of repairing and replacing tyres
• Ideally some experience with computer systems
• The ability to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Your own vehicle
• Flexibility to stay away from home
