Job summary

Hertfordshire Catering Ltd (HCL) is seeking a Mobile Cook Manager to lead kitchen operations across Watford and surrounding areas, with 27.5 hours per week and term-time scheduling. You’ll travel to primary and secondary schools, manage a friendly team, prepare nutritious meals, monitor food safety and budgets, and uphold high hygiene standards while delivering an excellent dining experience every day.

Qualifications

• Lead and manage the day-to-day kitchen operations in schools
• Prepare and deliver fresh, nutritious meals for pupils
• Oversee stock control, ordering, and budget management
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control
• Manage allergen awareness and accommodate dietary requirements
• Build positive relationships with staff, students and the wider school community
• Maintain records (e.g. HACCP, temperature checks, audits)
• Inspire and develop your team and create an environment for growth
