Job summary

Nottingham City Council is hiring a Mobile Kitchen Assistant to support the Catering Supervisor in preparing and serving school meals and keeping the kitchen clean. You will travel between schools to cover sickness and absences, and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

The role requires DBS clearance and offers permanent part-time hours (16.25 per week) with a competitive pension and opportunities for hybrid arrangements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of good customer care practice.
• Awareness of basic hygiene principles.
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Business use insurance or be willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Catering Supervisor and team with preparation and serving of school meals.
• Maintain cleanliness of the school kitchen and equipment.
• Travel to various schools to provide cover for sickness/absences.
