Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Mobile Kitchen Assistant to support school meal prep and service, while keeping the kitchen and equipment clean. The role requires travel to multiple schools to cover sickness and absence. Terms include term-time hours, 16.25 per week, 9:00am–2:00pm.

The ideal candidate will have customer care awareness, basic hygiene, numeracy, teamwork, and a UK driving licence with business-use insurance. DBS check is required, and hybrid/work arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of good customer care practice.
• Awareness of basic hygiene principles.
• Basic numeracy skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Business use insurance or be willing to obtain.
• A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Catering Supervisor and team with preparation and serving of school meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Travel to various schools to provide cover for sickness and absences.
