Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) to join a national breakdown company. You will attend roadside breakdowns, diagnose faults, and perform mechanical/electrical repairs at the roadside to keep members mobile.

The role offers a strong salary with OTE exceeding £60,000 and opportunities to earn £70k–£80k+. Flexible overtime and pension, life cover, and career progression are included.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Prefer Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience.
• Full UK driving licence with max 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isnt possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
