Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician in Bridgwater to join a national breakdown company. You will respond to roadside calls, perform mechanical and electrical repairs, and help members get back on the move quickly.

This permanent role requires 40 hours weekly with shifts from 6am to 12am. OTE exceeds £60,000, with potential to earn £70k–£80k depending on overtime and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair; Level 3 preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification hands-on vehicle experience.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.
• Customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs (battery, wheel changes, minor engine fixes).
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible to restore mobility.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments.
