Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a Roadside Technician (field-based) to provide roadside assistance across the national network. The role offers a strong base salary with OTE over £60,000 and opportunities to earn £70k–£80k+. You will work 40 hours per week, primarily on-site with field-based duties and overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities include rapid fault diagnosis, on-vehicle repairs, and guidance to members. You’ll need Level 2/3 qualifications and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence – max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
