Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking professional Mobile Retail Security Officers to support multiple supermarket locations around Canterbury. You will be the visible deterrent, protect people, property and stock, and provide excellent customer service.

As a mobile, multi-site role, you will cover sites based on operational needs, respond to incidents, monitor CCTV, conduct patrols, and work flexibly across shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS/ BS7858 checks.
• Valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) required.
• Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high-profile security presence to deter theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Conduct regular patrols of shop floors, entrances and perimeters.
• Monitor CCTV and identify suspicious activity in real time.
• Respond quickly to incidents, alarms and emergencies.
• Carry out searches in line with company policies and legal requirements.
• Liaise with store management to address risks and loss prevention strategies.
• Produce clear incident reports in a timely manner.
• Deliver professional customer service and assist with queries.
• De-escalate confrontations calmly and safely.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and client procedures.
• Travel between sites as required to support wider security operations.
