Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a professional Mobile Retail Security Officer to cover three Chesterfield area stores. You'll deter theft, protect people and stock, and deliver excellent customer service across rotating shifts 13:00-22:00 and Sundays 10:00-16:00, with travel between sites as needed.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, DBS/BS7858 clearance, and a full UK driving licence. Flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS and BS7858 clearance.
• A valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) and relevant security experience.
• Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.
• Previous experience in retail security or customer-facing roles (preferred).
• Strong observation and decision-making skills.
• Confident handling of confrontation and conflicts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable, proactive and professional attitude.
• Flexibility to work across multiple locations and varied shifts.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high-profile security presence to deter theft and incidents.
• Conduct regular patrols across shop floors, entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor CCTV systems and identify suspicious activity in real time.
• Respond quickly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
• Carry out searches in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Liaise with store management and local teams to address risks.
• Produce clear incident reports in a timely manner.
• Deliver professional customer experience and assist queries.
• De-escalate situations calmly and safely.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and client procedures.
• Travel between sites as required.
