Job Title: Mobile Remedial Electrician (Commercial / Industrial Property Maintenance)

Salary: Up to £40k Basic + Overtime and Shift Allowance + Fully Expensed Company Van + Benefits

Location: Cardiff (Regional coverage within 50 Miles Radius)

Hours: Various (premium rates paid for unsocial hours)

Our client is one of the largest companies in the UK, providing specialist electrical testing services to occupied premises such as schools, hospitals, office blocks, retail units, and industrial units. Their job is to ensure all fixed wiring, switchgear, or control equipment meet regulations and are safe to use.

Following inspections by their Test & Inspection Engineers, Electricians are responsible for completing necessary upgrades or repairs. The role offers variety, from replacing breakers to upgrading switches in large industrial units. Flexibility and quick thinking are essential.

The field electricians are vital, representing the face of the company and the unsung heroes of the team.

These are permanent positions.

The Role:

We seek an experienced Electrician to support our Maintenance and Repairs team covering Cardiff and surrounding areas. Work is planned in advance and coordinated via our Operations Planning team based at our Head Office in West Yorkshire. You will work closely with your dedicated works coordinator, who will support you through regular communication, liaising with customers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct electrical remedial works in commercial and industrial environments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain findings, answer questions, and provide technical advice.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance technical skills.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience
• City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) qualification in Inspection and Testing
• NVQ Level 3
• 18th Edition
• In-depth knowledge of BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and other relevant standards and codes
• Strong understanding of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Valid UK driving licence (or equivalent, depending on location)
