Job summary

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified podiatrist to deliver comprehensive foot care across hospital clinics, community settings and residential facilities. The role requires independent travel around the county and a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning and review of podiatric care for patients with high-risk diabetes, neuropathy and vascular conditions.

Qualifications

• To be a registered podiatrist with valid practice status.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate podiatric care for patients with diverse clinical needs.
• Deliver care in hospital clinics, ward rounds, health centres, community clinics, GP practice clinics and residential homes.
• Complete internal competency development including Nail Surgery, MSK and High Risk.
• Participate in departmental rota for nail surgery as appropriate.
• Assess and identify risk factors; categorize patients into recommended risk bands.
• Plan day-to-day workloads for home visits and visits to residential homes and care centres.
• Provide foot health education to patients, relatives and carers; train primary and social care staff when appropriate.
• Develop departmental policies, guidelines and protocols.
• Maintain and secure stock and equipment; follow SOPs and professional guidelines.
• Care for immobile, wheelchair or bed-bound patients when required.
• Provide cover for other podiatrists on short notice and during absences as needed.
• Ensure duties align with local quality initiatives and confidentiality rules.
