Job summary

Gap Personnel is seeking a reliable Mobile Plant Operator for a busy industrial site in Cardiff. The role covers 4 on, 4 off shifts from 6am to 6pm, with strong overtime rates and an immediate start available.

You will operate 360 wheeled machinery or front‑shovel loading equipment, perform daily checks, and maintain safe working areas on a fast‑paced site. Valid CPCS/NPORS credentials and solid site experience are essential.

Qualifications

• CPCS/NPORS certification for 360 wheeled excavator or front shovel is required.
• Experience operating heavy plant on industrial/construction sites.
• Strong site safety awareness and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate 360 wheeled machinery or front‑shovel loading equipment.
• Move materials, load vehicles, and support daily plant operations.
• Maintain safe work areas in a fast‑paced heavy‑industrial environment.
• Complete daily machine checks and report defects.
• Work as part of a reliable, safety‑focused team.

Mobile Plant Operator – Cardiff

4 on 4 off | 6am–6pm | Long‑term role

We’re recruiting a reliable and experienced Mobile Plant Operator to join a busy heavy‑movement industrial site in the Cardiff area. This is a stable, long‑term opportunity with consistent shifts, strong overtime rates, and an immediate start available.

Pay & Shifts

• 4 on 4 off – 6am to 6pm
• £13.04 per hour basic
• £19.56 overtime (after 8 hours) & Saturdays
• £26.08 Sundays

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating 360 wheeled machinery or front‑shovel loading equipment
• Moving materials, loading vehicles, and supporting daily plant operations
• Maintaining safe work areas in a fast‑paced heavy‑industrial environment
• Completing daily machine checks and reporting defects
• Working as part of a reliable, safety‑focused team

What You Need

• Valid CPCS or NPORS for 360 Wheeled Excavator or Front Shovel
• Experience operating heavy plant machinery in industrial or construction settings
• Strong awareness of site safety, signalling, and communication
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Good reliability and timekeeping
• CSCS preferred but not essential
• Fit for work and comfortable in physical, hands‑on environments
