Job summary

Hills Waste Solutions is hiring a Mobile Plant Operative for our Purton site. This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £32,573.54 per annum and a comprehensive benefits package.

As Mobile Plant Operative, you will operate and maintain site equipment, perform routine maintenance, and support safe site operations at Parkgate Farm, Purton. CPCS/NPORS – 360 Excavator is essential; teamwork and safety awareness are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is essential.
• CPCS/NPORS ticket for 360 Excavator required.
• Able to work well in a team and adhere to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect and maintain plant and machinery safely.
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic fault-finding.

We are looking for a Mobile Plant Operative to join our team at our landfill at Parkgate Farm, Purton. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary and a fantastic benefits package.

What is the role all about?

As our Mobile Plant Operative, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the site, operating a range of fixed and mobile plant equipment in line with site procedures and management instructions.

What you will be doing:

As our Mobile Plant Operative, you will:

• Operate, inspect, and maintain plant and machinery in line with manufacturer guidelines, company procedures, and planned maintenance schedules to maximise performance and reliability.
• Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and basic fault-finding on fixed and mobile plant equipment, helping to ensure site operations run safely and efficiently.
• Take part in ongoing training and development opportunities, both on-site and externally, to enhance your skills, maintain compliance, and support your career progression.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

• Previous experience working within a similar role.
• CPCS/NPORS – 360 Excavator.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team, with the ability to self-motivate.
• Aware of the health and safety concerns in the working environment.

Desirable:

• Additional fixed and mobile plant experience/tickets.
• IT literacy.
