Job summary

Net Zero Careers Accelerator (NZCA) in Ashbourne is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to maintain, service and repair a range of mobile and static plant. This hands-on role demands strong mechanical knowledge, diagnostic ability, and experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.

Performs planned and reactive maintenance to keep equipment safe and available. Prior experience in waste management or heavy industry is highly desirable; permanent position with competitive hourly pay is

Qualifications

Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on repair experience.
Diagnostic ability across hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience with hydraulic systems and electrical looms/connections.

Responsibilities

Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on mobile and static plant.
Service and repair equipment including loaders, compactors, conveyors, shredders, balers and picking lines.
Diagnose and repair faults across hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical looms, wiring and connections.
Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report recurring faults.
Work closely with operational and engineering teams to maintain equipment availability.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
Report hazards, defects and incidents promptly.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
