Job summary

EMR Group is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join our Maintenance team in Leeds. The role covers mobile plant across South Yorkshire with occasional UK travel, working Monday to Friday.

You will perform planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on heavy equipment such as Sennebogen, Liebherr, and Caterpillar machines, using OEM diagnostic tools and following LOTOTO safety practices. The position requires NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance and a full UK driving

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy mobile plant in port, quarry, or industrial environments.
• Competence on Caterpillar, Liebherr and Sennebogen equipment.
• Strong fault-finding across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with material handlers, loading shovels, cranes, reach stackers, forklifts.
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Plant Maintenance or related field.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Plant Fitter to join our Maintenance team. As a key member of the maintenance function, you will be responsible for carrying out reactive, preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance activities across our South Yorkshire operations.

This is a mobile role covering Leeds and surrounding sites, with occasional travel to other UK locations when operationally required.

The role will operate Monday-Friday.

What You Will Be Doing

• Carry out planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and breakdown response on a wide range of mobile plant and port equipment: Material Handlers (Sennebogen, Liebherr, Caterpillar), Wheeled Loading Shovels, Hydraulic Cranes, etc.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults using OEM diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
• Apply and adhere to LOTOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out, Try Out) procedures and company safe systems of work.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability and availability.
• Work closely with site operations, contractors, and engineering colleagues to minimise downtime and maximise operational performance

About You

• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant in a port, waste, quarry, recycling, aggregates, bulk handling, or industrial environment.
• Demonstrable competence working on: Caterpillar, Liebherr, Sennebogen
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience working with material handlers, loading shovels, cranes, reach stackers, forklifts, and heavy industrial plant.
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
