Job Title – Mobile Plant Engineer

Salary – £30,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

Hours – 39 per week (Mon-Fri), with alternate Saturday mornings (8-12pm) at overtime rate.

Location – Carnforth and surrounding areas.

I am currently working on behalf of a well-known Agricultural/Construction main dealer in the Carnforth area who has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mobile Plant Engineer. This role involves covering the area for call outs and breakdowns, and occasionally working on vehicles/machines at the depot if needed. The main responsibilities include servicing and maintaining construction equipment, ensuring machinery runs smoothly, and providing excellent customer service.

Great opportunity with ongoing training, paid overtime, company van, and contracted hours of 39 per week (with typical hours of 45-55 per week).

Mobile Plant Engineer Main Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing machinery and equipment, either in the workshop or during field visits.
• Fixing faults or installing replacement parts.
• Ensuring compliance with manufacturers’ service and warranty procedures.
• Recording all hours worked using timesheets or scanners.
• Keeping management informed of progress.
• Maintaining a safe, tidy, and professional work area and company vehicle.
• Adhering to the company’s Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, and safe working practices.

Personal Specification

• Good mechanical knowledge of vehicles or machinery; experience in the plant/agricultural sector is essential.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations.
• A full driver’s license is essential.
