Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a flexible Phlebotomist to join the Phlebotomy Service. The role requires a clean UK driving licence and access to a car, as you will drive between Derbyshire sites including Royal Derby Hospital and community locations.

You will organise your workload to meet turnaround standards, assist with audits and data collection, and contribute to cost-effective equipment use.

Qualifications

• Clean UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Experience in a care environment or customer service is preferable.
• Clear legible handwriting and good IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples at Royal Derby Hospital, Florence Nightingale Hospital and community locations across Derbyshire.
• Organise daily workload to meet departmental turnaround standards.
• Assist senior staff with audits and data collection.
• Support stock control and cost-effective use of equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality and respond professionally to enquiries from users and patients.
