Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is seeking a flexible Phlebotomist to join our Phlebotomy Service across Derbyshire. You will collect blood samples at multiple sites and manage your workload to ensure timely, accurate results.

You will work as part of a large team in a fast-paced hospital environment, requiring good communication, confidentiality and IT skills. Driving between sites is essential and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous phlebotomy experience.
• Previous experience of working in a hospital or care environment.
• Previous customer care experience.
• Valid Driving Licence and vehicle available for work.

Responsibilities

• You will be part of a large team taking blood samples at varying locations in Derbyshire.
• You will work on your own initiative organising your daily workload to achieve departmental test turnaround standards.
• You will assist senior staff with audits and data collection and will ensure the most cost-effective use of equipment and assist with stock control.
• You should have a flexible approach to working and possess excellent communication skills.
