Job summary

HMS is seeking a Painter and Decorator to deliver high-quality painting and decorating across Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington. The role is mobile, requiring travel between sites and flexibility in duties, with supervision of apprentices and a focus on safe, quality workmanship.

The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent, CSCS card, a full UK driving licence and a time-served apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Min NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting and Decorating or a related discipline.
• CSCS card at the appropriate level.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Time-served apprenticeship.
• Strong experience in painting and decorating, building maintenance and construction activities.
• Flexible approach to varied duties and changing priorities.
• Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all types of painting and decorating work, internally and externally.
• Plan and organise work efficiently, using materials and time effectively.
• Liaise with customers and colleagues to ensure smooth delivery.
• Supervise and support apprentices and trainees.
• Carry out diagnostic and pre-measuring work to scope tasks clearly.
• Use IT systems to receive instructions and complete work orders.
• Explain repair requirements clearly and arrange next steps.
• Carry out documentation accurately and support training programmes.
• Drive company vehicles and maintain stock and equipment.
• Work with planners and other teams for coordinated service delivery.
• Maintain health and safety standards and customer care.
