Job summary

Hartford Care is looking for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our Maintenance Team across care homes. The role involves painting and decorating, with preparation, repair and finishing of internal and external areas, and travel to multiple sites along the M3 & M4 corridor.

A driving licence is essential; a vehicle is provided. You will help keep homes safe, comfortable and well maintained, supporting general maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Robust painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, maintaining a high degree of skill and professionalism.
• Ability to work at height.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
• Full and clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all painting and decorating tasks, including preparation, repair, and finishing of internal and external areas.
• Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and minimise disruption to residents and staff.
• Support general maintenance tasks (e.g. basic plumbing, tiling, minor repairs).
• Travel between homes as required to support the maintenance team.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
