Job summary

Keys Education and Peak Activity are seeking Outdoor Education Instructors in Wakefield to deliver meaningful outdoor experiences for young people in schools and children's homes. The role supports confidence, resilience and essential life skills through long-term engagement.

We welcome applicants with a passion for outdoor learning; driving licence is required as the role is mobile across Wakefield, with full-time, term-time or part-time options depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence; role is mobile across Wakefield.
• Experience or willingness to work with young people in schools or care settings.
• Outdoor activities such as mountain biking, climbing, paddling.
• Strong communication and group leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, engaging activities ensuring high-quality learning outcomes.
• Lead and manage groups with confidence, including in challenging situations.
• Be motivated, positive and enthusiastic about outdoor learning.
• Contribute to building confidence, resilience and life skills in participants.
• Support program delivery across schools and children’s homes when needed.
• Promote a positive adventure mindset and a professional outdoor experience.

Key Responsibilities

• As an Outdoor Instructor, you will deliver activities that are safe, engaging, and professionally delivered, ensuring participants achieve high-quality learning outcomes
• Have excellent communication and people skills
• Be confident leading and managing groups, even in challenging situations
• Be motivated, positive, and enthusiastic about outdoor learning
• Ideally have previous experience in a similar role (although attitude and enthusiasm are just as important)
