Job summary

Keys Education and Peak Activity in Wakefield is seeking an Outdoor Education Instructor to deliver engaging, safe outdoor activities across schools and care settings. You’ll help young people build confidence, resilience and essential life skills through meaningful outdoor experiences.

The role supports full-time, term-time or part-time options depending on experience and qualifications, with mobility across locations in Wakefield. A Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence required for mobile role across Wakefield locations.
• Experience or enthusiasm for outdoor activities and helping young people learning.
• Ability to communicate effectively with groups and individuals.
• A positive, proactive attitude towards outdoor safety and learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, engaging outdoor activities with high-quality learning outcomes.
• Lead and manage groups, including in challenging situations.
• Support participants in building confidence, resilience and life skills.
• Promote outdoor learning with enthusiasm and energy.
• Bonus: prior similar role is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• As an Outdoor Instructor, you will deliver activities that are safe, engaging, and professionally delivered, ensuring participants achieve high-quality learning outcomes
• Have excellent communication and people skills
• Be confident leading and managing groups, even in challenging situations
• Be motivated, positive, and enthusiastic about outdoor learning
• Ideally have previous experience in a similar role (although attitude and enthusiasm are just as important)
