Job summary

Mitie in Northern Ireland is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform planned and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and building services.

You will diagnose faults, repair distribution boards, motors, EMS, and support HVAC systems. You will also participate in an on-call rota and ensure compliance with BS 7671 and Mitie standards while documenting all work performed.

Qualifications

• Electrical installation/maintenance qualification required.
• Knowledge of 18th edition wiring regulations.
• Exceptional fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Organised and methodical with good attention to detail.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs across electrical systems and building services; faultfinding, diagnosis and repair of distribution boards, motors and EMS.
• Support mechanical maintenance tasks such as HVAC systems, pumps, valves and air handling units.
• Be included in the on-call rota.
• Ensure all work complies with BS 7671, Mitie standards and statutory requirements; maintain documentation.
• Accurately report progress and maintain records of work performed.

Key responsibilities:

Role Responsibilities:

• You will be carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair works across electrical systems and building services. Responsibilities include faultfinding, diagnosis and repair of distribution boards, motors, pumps, building management systems, emergency lighting, and general electrical plant.
• You will also support mechanical maintenance tasks such as HVAC systems, pumps, valves, air handling units, basic plumbing, and basic fabric works.
• You will also be included in the on-call rota.
• You will have strong electrical faultfinding and maintenance experience, ideally gained within facilities management or commercial or industrial building services environments.
• All work must be completed in full compliance with BS 7671, Mitie technical standards, and statutory requirements, with job progress and documentation accurately maintained.

Required Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
• 18th edition

High attention to detail, compliance and service report writing.

Approachable team player, able to work on own initiative and with colleagues and clients alike.

Willingness to participate in an on-call rota - one in every 4/5 weeks.

Experience in computer PPM maintenance systems such as Maximo is desirable.

Familiar with mobile technology, computer literate with experience in Word and Excel spread sheets.
