Job summary

Mears Group PLC is hiring for a multi-skilled tradesperson to carry out responsive repairs in tenanted social housing across Durham. You will work across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating, with a focus on customer service and safety.

You will need a Full UK driving licence, be able to work independently, and record job details on handheld devices. The role offers a permanent full-time contract, a salary up to £44,232.30 per year, and a company van with fuel card.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving.
• Excellent customer service in residents' homes.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs in tenanted social housing.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves and doors.
• Install/adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboards.
• Identify and fix plumbing issues such as leaks and blocked sinks.
• Record job details and materials using handheld devices.
• Maintain tools and company vehicle.
