Job Overview

Skanska, one of the world’s largest development and construction companies with 135 years of history and a 2021 revenue of approximately £12.5 billion, is seeking a Mobile Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Building Services division in the UK. We provide comprehensive facilities management across various properties, supporting mechanical and electrical engineering, cleaning, catering, and grounds maintenance using advanced technological solutions.

Role Description

The successful candidate will execute M&E services (Electrical LVAP, Plumbing, Pool Plant Maintenance, HVAC, BMS), Planned Preventative Maintenance, and Reactive Works to meet strict KPI standards. Ensuring compliance with statutory and mandatory maintenance requirements, maintaining accurate records and certificates, and working proactively with a 'Can do' attitude are essential. The role requires initiative, commitment to quality, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate in a dynamic environment, maintaining mechanical plant such as Heat Exchangers, Control Systems, Pumps, Generators, CHP, FCUs, AHUs, and plumbing systems. Fault-finding and plant adjustments to optimize utility use.
  • Work safely on ELV/LV and electrical systems, adhering to all electrical and health and safety regulations as an Authorising Engineer.
  • Maintain knowledge of Building Services and Water Regulations, Health and Safety, and CoSHH standards.
  • Engage with clients’ representatives, end users, and Skanska Facilities team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Participate in Toolbox Talks and GSSD sessions.
  • Use IT equipment effectively, including Data Networks.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills
  • Experience with building services in educational environments, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance, City & Guilds, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and ECS card.
  • Low Voltage Authorised Persons (AP12) certification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely and CoSHH certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in building maintenance.
Desirable Skills
  • BMS/Pools experience, CAFM systems (Mobiles).
  • Knowledge of Legionella prevention, water treatment, Water Regulations, Uvented Systems.
