Job summary

Nelson Permanent Placements seeks a Building Services mobile Mechanical, Plumbing & Heating Engineer to work mobile around Birmingham and surrounding areas. You will deliver PPM, reactive repairs, and statutory compliance to keep heating and water running for hundreds of tenants.

Essentially, you will manage water hygiene, HIUs, and district heating interfaces while ensuring safety and regulatory standards across occupied student residences.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing and Heating or Mechanical Engineering Services.
• G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems certification.
• Full UK driving licence (company van provided).
• CSCS / ECS / JIB or equivalent skills card (or willingness to obtain).
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM on plant room equipment to SFG20 schedules and repair reactive faults.
• Maintain and repair unvented hot water systems and HIUs, including district heating interfaces.
• Carry out water hygiene tasks in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274.
• Drain, refill, vent systems and assist with small works and commissioning.
• Record all work accurately on the CAFM system for audit-ready records.
