Job summary

Nelson Permanent Placements is recruiting a Building Services HVAC Engineer to work mobile on live student accommodation around Newcastle and occasionally Scotland.

You will deliver planned preventive maintenance, reactive repairs and minor works on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

The role requires NVQ3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, F-Gas Cat 1, a full UK driving licence, and CSCS/ECS/JIB or equivalent; full UK working rights.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC or Mechanical Engineering Services (essential).
• F-Gas Category 1 certification required.
• Experience maintaining commercial HVAC plant (AHUs, VRF/VRV, ventilation).

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM on HVAC plants to SFG20 schedules and manufacturer requirements.
• Diagnose and repair reactive faults on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Interface with BMS/controls to diagnose faults and optimise performance.
• Record work in CAFM/HPS system with asset data and readings.
• Support installation, replacement and commissioning of HVAC equipment on small works.
