Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in London is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to support the MET Police estate across South London. You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across critical building systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

This role involves maintaining AHUs, ventilation, FCUs, heating and cooling, and water assets, with on-site visits to multiple police facilities. You will participate in an on-call rota and provide clear updates, with opportunity for ongoing

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Plumbing, Heating, and Ventilation (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Proven experience in commercial mechanical maintenance or facilities management.
• Willingness to obtain MET Police CTC Clearance (7–10 months).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault finding on mechanical systems
• Maintain and repair systems including AHUs, ventilation (intake/extract), FCUs, heating and cooling systems, and water assets (booster sets, chlorifiers, water heaters)
• Respond to client queries on-site and provide clear updates on works undertaken
• Accurately complete all documentation, including service reports, inspection logs, and remedial actions
• Support on-call rota and travel between sites within the same contract area
