Job summary

Forestry and Land Scotland is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to join the Mechanical Engineering Services team. The role involves repairing and maintaining FLS vehicles, machinery, and fleet equipment across Scotland, often on-site in forest locations using a mobile van and modern diagnostic tools.

You will work with a small, established team and receive on-the-job training, with opportunities to develop skills such as EV diagnostics and tree harvesting machinery operation as part of your development

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain FLS vehicles, machinery and fleet equipment safely and economically
• Work on a wide range of vehicles and machines, from cars, vans and 4x4s to trailers, quads and forest harvesters and forwarders
• Carry out on-site work in the forest environment from a mobile mechanics' van
• Use modern workshop equipment, including vehicle ramps, computer-based diagnostics and hand tools
