Job summary

City Facilities Management is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support multiple supermarket stores across Essex (Colchester / Romford / Chelmsford / Southend). This mobile role involves planned visits and responsive maintenance of building fabric, floors, doors, toilets and basic plumbing.

You’ll work with store management to provide progress updates, ensure safety and compliance, and escalate issues when needed. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Essential NVQ/City & Guilds in a relevant trade and multi-trade FM experience.
• Full UK driving licence and strong health and safety knowledge.
• Ability to carry out fabric/grounds repairs and update task logs on iPads.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple stores.
• Complete minor fabric repairs, basic plumbing and housekeeping tasks.
• Maintain tools and materials and update job progress with store teams.
• Escalate issues outside the role scope promptly and accurately.
