Job summary

Colten Care is seeking a Maintenance Person to cover our Castle View and Abbey View sites in Dorset. You will perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, and conduct monthly tests on equipment including fire safety devices and lighting. You will report to Facilities Management and keep meticulous records.

You must be a driver with your own car, and be prepared to travel between homes to complete planned and reactive tasks, ensuring safety and reliability for residents.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence and own car for site travel.
• Experience in routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Comfort with maintaining records in a maintenance software system.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs in care homes.
• Conduct monthly tests/inspections on equipment (fire doors, lighting, fire extinguishers, etc.).
• Report issues to Facilities Management and keep records up to date.
• Handle planned maintenance and reactive tasks (beds, shelves, lighting, fittings).
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and travel between sites.
