Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Part Time Mobile Library Supervisor (HGV Class 2 Driver) for a fixed-term 6-month role based in Witham. You will manage a mobile library, drive a 12-ton vehicle, and oversee stock and customer service across a 3-week rota.

The position requires a current HGV Class 2 licence, driving experience, and flexibility to meet service needs. Earnings £10,173 to £11,216 per year, with 14.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Current HGV class 2 driving licence and able to drive a 12-ton vehicle.
• Demonstrable experience in a customer focused environment.
• Ability to use ICT equipment and Microsoft Office packages.

Responsibilities

• Welcome library users and help to deliver a quality service at the base or other Library as required.
• Carry out stock circulation procedures including issue, discharge, reservations, and fines; shelf and tidy returned items.
• Maintain and clean the vehicles in accordance with daily log sheets; assist with delivery/collection of vehicles for maintenance/repair.
• Help customers with enquiries and use ICT equipment where provided.
• Deliver books and equipment as required.
• Support Health, Safety & Welfare responsibilities and safeguarding in the workplace.
