Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Part Time Mobile Library Supervisor (HGV Class 2 Driver) for a fixed-term role based in Witham. Working a 14.5 hour week on a 3-week rota, you will drive the mobile library across Essex villages, supervise staff, manage stock, and deliver excellent customer service.

The role starts in 8am, finishing around 6pm, with earnings starting from £10,173 to £11,216 annually for part-time hours.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence and able to drive a 12-ton vehicle.
• Experience driving large vehicles and performing routine checks.
• Customer-focused experience.
• IT skills and proficiency with library ICT systems.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety basics and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Welcome library users and deliver a quality service at base or other libraries.
• Manage stock circulation including loans, reservations, and fines.
• Maintain and clean vehicles, assist with deliveries/collections.
• Assist customers with enquiries and ICT equipment.
• Deliver books and equipment as required and support outreach.
