Job summary

Simply Recruitment Group is seeking a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer for a permanent role based in Southampton, with travel across the Midlands to the South. You will service, maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems on mobile medical units and ensure uptime and compliance.

Essential: split AC, chillers and AHUs; F‑Gas Cat 1; NVQ 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning; full UK driving licence; strong health and safety knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven refrigeration and HVAC maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Experience with split AC systems, chillers and AHUs.
• F-Gas Category 1 certification.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration components and diagnostics.
• Good health and safety knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel across the South of England.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on split air conditioning systems, chillers and AHUs.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration and HVAC faults to minimise downtime.
• Travel to NHS and private healthcare facilities across the South of England.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rota for breakdown support.
• Assist with installations, commissioning and upgrade projects.
• Maintain company tools, testing equipment and vehicle.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Complete service reports and compliance documentation.
