Job summary

Amey seeks a permanent Maintenance Technician to service highways control technology across Scotland, based in Cumbernauld. The role is on-site and mobile, covering CCTV, variable signs, and related telecoms assets on motorways and trunk roads.

You will work a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri) within a multi-disciplinary team delivering reliable journey times and safety. A driving licence is essential, with training provided to grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Competent in using hand and powered tools and test equipment.
• Must hold a valid driving licence.
• Ideally you will have a national certificate in an electronic / electrical discipline.
• Desirable vocational qualifications in the electrotechnical or telecommunications field.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking inspections and diagnostic checks on highways control technology and electrical assets.
• Response to urgent faults and emergency repairs.
• Completion of planned preventative maintenance and inspections and reporting in line with defined schedules.
• Ensuring that all work is carried out to current electrical and highway communications standards.
• You will also be required to work on a standby rota.
